Across Whatcom County, families are feeling the strain of a food system in crisis. SNAP disruptions are already affecting families, and deeper cuts are looming. On top of that instability, families in Whatcom County’s rural and urban food deserts face another barrier — extremely limited places to use the benefits they still have. Some drive up to an hour just to reach a store that offers fresh produce, or a farmers market that doubles their EBT dollars through SNAP Market Match.

Twin Sisters Mobile Market bridges that gap. Our nonprofit, mobile farmers market truck is one of the only places in East Whatcom County where families can use Senior Vouchers, EBT, access unlimited SNAP Market Match, and — coming in 2026 — the only place east of Nugents Corner to accept WIC. We bring fresh, locally grown food directly to underserved neighborhoods. Nearly half our sales come from these programs, which keep healthy food affordable for families and ensure our local farmer members are paid fairly.
