At J.O. Wilson Elementary, we are soaring to success. As the 2026-27 school year kicks off, we're excited to be returning to our newly renovated and modernized school! To help our students and teachers start the new year strong, we're raising $5,000 to help set up our teachers with fresh classroom supplies and kick off funding for student clubs, activities, and field trips—programs that build community and student engagement.

Your donations will help to fund:

$200 classroom supply grants for every teacher at the school
Prizes for academic achievement and consistent attendance
Supplies for after-school clubs and activities
Program support for sports, theater, and other enrichment activities
Class-level activities including field trips
School-wide events including the annual Winter Show, Black History Month, Career Day, Field Day, and more

About Our School

J.O. Wilson Elementary School is located at 7th & K St NE in Washington DC, and serves nearly 500 Pre-K through 5th grade students from across the city. As a Title I school, many of our families face economic challenges. But every day, our children and educators show us that opportunity and encouragement can open doors to extraordinary possibilities.

The J.O. Wilson PTA fosters a supportive community that affords our children exciting and positive new opportunities by promoting student development, academic enrichment, and relationship building through after-school programming and other community-based activities. The J.O. Wilson PTA is a 501(c)(3) charitable non-profit organization.
