We’re a women-founded, community-led team of engineers and humanitarian experts designing practical, dignity-centered solutions alongside communities navigating crisis. From drinking water tanks and solar power to menstrual health programs and STEM classes, everything we build begins with empathy and ends in joy.

In refugee settlements and border communities, joy is resistance in motion. It keeps people building, teaching, healing, and laughing even when everything else is uncertain.

🌈 Why Joy in Motion

Five years ago, we picked up a shovel in a refugee camp in Matamoros, Mexico, where families were getting sick from the water. It started with digging drainage channels, and led to a space for dignity, hope, and joy.

That first camp has been bulldozed. But what began in the mud has never stopped moving.

Today, Joy in Motion reflects who we are and how we work. When crisis tears down communities, we build safety, joy, and systems that last.

Across Mexico, community-led WASH brought clean water, safe showers, and dignity to more than 4,000 people. In Reynosa, progress continued on a park and playground at the Senda de Vida 1 shelter, while critical flooding repairs restored care at Casa Clínica Lulu. In Tapachula, women gained privacy and access through menstrual health programs. Beyond Mexico, preparations began for clinic-based WASH projects in Jordan, and hygiene kits reached families in Ukraine.

Across borders and continents, communities are leading solutions that protect health, restore hope, and bring joy back into daily life.
