At Solidarity Engineering, we help communities in crisis not only survive, but thrive, by providing clean water, hygiene supplies, safe infrastructure, and education. In 2025, we began our work in Jordan, a country hosting millions of refugees and displaced people. With severe cuts to humanitarian funding and essential services, the most vulnerable families now face even greater risks. Many lack reliable access to clean water, sanitation, and hygiene, leaving children and women especially vulnerable to preventable illness, infection, and loss of dignity.

As a women-founded humanitarian engineering nonprofit, we strengthen WASH services and infrastructure to prevent disease before it spreads. This Ramadan, your support will help sustain and expand our priority programs for refugee communities and vulnerable local families, including women’s health education, family hygiene kits, infrastructural support, STEM classes for children, and vocational training. Guided by ongoing needs assessments and input from community members and local partners, your donation directly fuels the programs below:

Tiered Donation Options

$20 → One dignity kit for a girl
$50 → Emergency menstrual supplies for a community center for one month
$75 → One week of STEM class materials for 25 children
$100 → WASH maintenance supplies for a community center
$350 → Women’s Health workshop for 20 girls, including dignity kit distribution
$500 → One month of comprehensive hygiene kit support for 20 families
$1,000 → Essential infrastructure repair or upgrade in a high-use community facility

4300+ refugee and vulnerable persons reached
12.1K essential items distributed (soap, cleaning supplies, menstrual pads etc.)

Women’s Health Programming

Many girls in refugee settings enter puberty without accurate guidance on menstruation, hygiene, and body changes due to stigma, limited information, and funding cuts. This increases infection risk, disrupts education, and affects dignity and wellbeing.

Program Highlights:

Weekly workshops on menstrual, personal, and maternal health
Reusable menstrual pad workshops for sustainable access
Distribution of menstrual and maternal hygiene kits (pads, undergarments, soap etc.)
Emergency menstrual supplies at key community centers

Monthly Hygiene Kit Distribution

Rising living costs force families to choose food over essential hygiene items, increasing preventable WASH-related illnesses.

Program Highlights:

Provide monthly family hygiene kits to 500+ refugee families
Kits tailored to local needs based on community surveys (soap, disinfectant, laundry powder etc.)
Products sourced from local businesses to boost local economies

Infrastructure Upgrades & Winterization

Originally set up as temporary or emergency support, infrastructure in refugee camps are deteriorating after years, and in some cases generations, of continuous use.

Program Highlights:

Maintenance and targeted upgrades for clinics and community centers
Shelter repairs where needed
Winterization support (clothes, tarps, blankets, insulation)

STEM Classes

Children in displacement face educational gaps, limited safe spaces, and high levels of stress.

Program Highlights:

Weekly hands-on STEM classes
Support psychosocial well-being through play-based learning
Provide essential school and educational supplies (backpacks, stationary, notebooks etc)

Vocational Training

As assistance becomes less predictable, communities need practical skills that help communities maintain safe infrastructure and generate income

Program Highlights:

Workshops in electrical safety, plumbing, WASH maintenance, home and shelter maintenance, sewing, embroidery, and reusable menstrual pad production for income
