House was born in Chicago. Techno was born in Detroit. Europe helped turn both into a global movement. Now we want the next generation of Midwest artists to have access to the international opportunities their culture helped create.

We’ve already built two Sonic Resonance cohorts, bringing in deeply respected industry vets as educators, producing workshops around technique, artistry, music history, and career development, creating a community that continues beyond the beautiful land of Wisconsin. For our third edition, Sonic Resonance is elevating our commitment to our cohort's education by bringing them to Brussels, Belgium, from August 3-15 for a residency in partnership with celebrated artists and organizations across Europe.

And we are raising money for one very specific thing: flights.

$1,200 gets one Sonic Resonance artist from the Midwest to Belgium.

That's it!

And Belgium is the only place to do it. The country is already seriously invested in and respects electronic music (and puts real resources behind that), enabling an enormously influential club, label, rave, and festival ecosystem to thrive and literally influence the GDP of the region. Belgium's central location also gives us a base for our artists to meet curators, partners, and institutions while learning how working DJs and producers build and sustain international careers. So this edition is not about leaving the Midwest behind, but reinforcing the global network that grew from our culture.

Our European curators will not simply come in to teach one workshop and disappear. The model we're developing pairs experienced DJs with small groups of Sonic Resonance participants for deeper mentorship around practice, touring, artistic identity, and navigating the European and global music ecosystem.

We want our artists to return home with relationships, knowledge, confidence, collaborators, and hopefully a few future bookings.

We don’t support brain drain. We only create bridges from the world back to the Midwest ❤️

You can donate here to support the cohort as a whole, or choose one of our participating DJs in the campaigns attached and contribute toward their individual $1,200 fundraising goal.
