Why Sponsorship Matters

SATINO currently hosts 58 children aged 2–6 at our daycare and preschool in Arusha, Tanzania — despite having capacity for 150. The only thing limiting us is funding. Many families in Arusha live below the poverty line, working long hours in agriculture and informal trade. Only 30% of our families can afford the $8/month tuition. The rest rely entirely on sponsorship and donations to keep their children in school.

Without SATINO, these children face overcrowded government schools with no meals, limited resources, and sadly — corporal punishment as a daily reality. SATINO offers a safe, nurturing, non-violent alternative where every child is valued equally regardless of background or gender.

What Your $10/Month Covers

👩‍🏫 Teacher Salaries	$4.70 — dedicated, caring teachers who show up every day
🍽️ Daily Meals	$4.50 — two nutritious meals a day, often the most reliable meal of a child's day

Our Three Classes

Baby Class — Ages 3–4

The Baby Class is where every SATINO journey begins. At this age learning happens through play, song, and exploration. Children are introduced to basic numbers and letters, develop their first social skills, and begin building the confidence to learn in a group setting. With a strong daycare element, the Baby Class also provides a safe, nurturing environment for working parents — ensuring the youngest children are cared for, fed, and stimulated during the day.

Middle Class — Ages 4–5

By the Middle Class children are ready to take their first real steps into structured learning. Building on the foundations of the Baby Class, children begin reading simple words and writing their first sentences. Lessons are delivered in English, Swahili, and Math, with an emphasis on keeping children curious and engaged. This is the stage where children noticeably grow in confidence — you can see it in how they carry themselves in the classroom.

Pre-Primary Class — Age 6

The Pre-Primary Class is SATINO's most advanced level and prepares children for the transition to primary school. Children work with full sentences, develop their reading comprehension, and are introduced to addition and basic arithmetic. The focus here is not just academic — it is about sending children into the next chapter of their education equipped, confident, and ready to thrive. Many of our Pre-Primary graduates go on to outperform peers who never had access to quality early education.

What Happens After You Sponsor

Once your sponsorship is confirmed you will receive:

A confirmation email with details of the child you are sponsoring
A bi-annual newsletter with photos and updates from SATINO
Updates on your sponsored child's progress throughout the year

All donations are processed securely through Givebutter with funds going directly to SATINO. When donating you may be asked to leave a tip for Givebutter and to cover processing fees — both are entirely optional.
