Sweet little one year old Puppy and his brother both need houses. One house is already on the way out but we could really use help from sponsors for the second house. These guys are not in the area covered by the grants we received for Typhoon Halong so we are on our own.

We really don't know too much about Puppy .... but this picture says it all. Whatever the story is really doesn't matter. This dog needs a proper insulated house and straw STAT! We will also ask the family about switching him to a lighter chain or letting us provide a 1/2 inch thick rope tie out for him as long as he isn't a chewer.

If you can help us get Puppy a real house please donate here. Every dollar will help and every dollar is appreciated. Any additional funds raised will go toward helping the next dog in need and there are plenty out there...our list is very long but we are working tirelessly on getting houses out as fast as we can.

Just a reminder our houses are double walled and insulated and cost us $375.00, plus a $25.00 deliver fee to drop them at the airport, and straw is about $20.00...that is where the $420.00 comes from.

Thank you!

While we at Straw For Dogs are not of the mindset that dogs should live outside in the cold away from their families, the reality is that many do.

We provide insulated dog houses and straw to dogs living outside in the harsh Alaskan climate. Even with a dog house and straw these living conditions are far from ideal. However, sending these resources are the most immediate action we can take to provide a little comfort to dogs who are suffering in the elements.

We continue to encourage people to bring their dogs inside (at least periodically for love and socialization), walk them, and play with them. We offer supplies to help with this as well.
