The Nurture Place continues to stand in the gap for children — all children.

Every day, we meet parents who are overwhelmed, teachers who are exhausted, and children who are carrying more than their young hearts were ever meant to hold. We see the quiet anxiety, the behavioral struggles that are really cries for connection, and the families who simply need someone to walk beside them. And our immigrant neighbors are no exception, families are being separated, children are full of fear. Last week, we heard a story of a Guatemalan grocery store being raided by ICE, children hiding in closets, parents not going to work because of fear… so much trauma… we want to stand it the gap- and continue advocating and serving children and families.

We will turn our compassion into action. And our fear into service and resistance.

That is why The Nurture Place has partnered with an organization in Apopka to expand critical services right here-our neighbors. Together, we are bringing:

8–16 therapy sessions weekly for children and families who need immediate support. (In Spanish and Telehealth)
Two monthly virtual support groups creating safe spaces for connection and encouragement. (In Spanish and Telehealth)
Crisis Intervention Training to equip those on the front lines with practical tools on March 13th
Self-care workshops designed specifically for their staff and helping professionals
A home visit program to meet families where they are and provide hands-on, relational support (near future, still working out the logistics of this.)

This is more than programming.
It is resistance.
It is presence.
It is hope in motion.

But we cannot do this alone.

Children do not choose the circumstances they are born into. Yet together, we can choose how we respond. We can choose to show up. We can choose to invest. We can choose to ensure that immigrant children and families know they are not alone.
