From April 1st to April 30th, nine teams are competing to raise the most money for our partner Rasin Devlopman's projects on the island of La Gonave, Haiti. Each team has chosen one of Rasin's projects to raise funds for—from leadership training to women's motorcycle courses to youth swimming lessons. Explore all the projects, choose a team, and donate! About Rasin: Fondation Rasin Devlopman (Rasin Devlopman or Rasin) is a Haiti-registered, Haitian-led organization that was founded in 2017 with the mission to strengthen the capacity of local leaders on the island of La Gonâve, empowering them to manage their own development and improve the quality of life on the island. La Gonâve, Haiti’s largest island, is home to approximately 100,000 residents, which is a larger population than the majority of the territories and nations that make up the Caribbean. Despite its size, La Gonâve is largely ignored by both the Haitian central government and international Nongovernmental Organizations (NGOs). While traditional aid work has failed in many parts of Haiti, the residents of La Gonâve, with Rasin Devlopman’s support, are doing better, more sustainable community-led development, providing a model for successful development that can be shared with leaders both nationally and globally.

About Roots: Roots of Development is a Washington, DC, based nonprofit organization that was founded in 2007. We work to shift the aid system in and around Haiti toward a community-led model by strengthening a local network of Haitian organizations and fostering international collective action. Rasin Devlopman is our original local partner, which we have supported since its founding in 2017.
