Every day, students walk into school carrying the weight of bullying, social media cruelty, and thoughts they are too scared to say out loud. Some never tell anyone. Some never make it to graduation.

Stand for the Silent was founded after Kirk and Laura Smalley lost their 11‑year‑old son, Ty, to bullying-related suicide. Out of that grief, they built a movement that has now reached more than 4.5 million students in over 6,700 schools worldwide with a simple message:

When Kirk speaks, things change. School counselors call it the most impactful assembly they’ve ever hosted. Parents email to say their child’s bully apologized after the presentation. Students write that they were planning to end their life, but chose to stay because, for the first time, someone understood.
