My name is Ulysses Martin. I'm a quadriplegic and a disabled athlete. Minor league football, amateur MMA, my own marketing business — and then a man with no insurance cut me off in traffic. In one second, everything changed. I broke my neck, I lost my left leg, and I was paralyzed.

I spent the last 7 years fighting to make my way back, and I wouldn't be here without Stay in Step.

Stay in Step is a veteran-founded 501(c)(3) recovery center in Tampa, created by Special Forces Chief Warrant Officer Romy Camargo and his wife Gaby after Romy was paralyzed in an ambush in Afghanistan. They didn't just treat me — they believed in me. They gave me a chance when I couldn't afford one. Their therapy reaches veterans and civilians that insurance leaves behind, and nearly half of their yearly budget comes from one night: the Red, White & Blue Gala, September 12, 2026, at the Hilton Downtown Tampa.

Every dollar you give here helps hand someone else what Stay in Step handed me: a future. Give what you can, then share this page with one person who should see my video.

Thank you for helping us stand back up and take a step forward.
