Thousands of veterans live every day with chronic pain, orthopedic injuries, and the lasting effects of traumatic brain injury. Traditional care helps many of them manage symptoms. But managing is not the same as recovering, and too many veterans are left coping with the damage instead of rebuilding their lives.

Professional athletes and others who can pay out of pocket are increasingly turning to regenerative therapies. Insurance rarely covers these treatments, so for most veterans the cost puts them out of reach.

It started with one veteran.

Stem Cells for Heroes began with our founder's fight to get his life back. Ron Fry served eight years on active duty as a U.S. Army officer, deploying to Kosovo with the 82nd Airborne Division and to Afghanistan as a Special Forces Team Leader with the 19th Special Forces Group. He came home to years of knee and joint pain that traditional care could manage but never resolve.

His search for answers led him to physicians in Southern Utah practicing regenerative medicine. Within weeks of his first treatment, years of pain began to ease.* What he found next was both inspiring and heartbreaking: fellow veterans needed the same chance, and most of them could not afford it.

Stem Cells for Heroes was founded to change that.
