Pathways Life & Health Presents: Our 3rd Annual HBCU College Tour

What if a young person's future could change simply because they were exposed to something greater?

At Pathways Life & Health, we believe that exposure creates opportunity. For the past three years, our annual HBCU College Tour has done exactly that expanding horizons, opening minds, and helping young people envision a future beyond what they see every day.

Unlike many college tours that focus only on high school students, we intentionally include middle school students who are preparing to enter high school. We believe it is never too early to expose young people to excellence, possibility, and purpose. We want them to begin dreaming earlier, planning earlier, and believing earlier.

Many of our youth have never stepped foot on a college campus. Many have never experienced an environment where Black excellence is celebrated, expected, and thriving. While Minnesota offers many opportunities, it remains a predominantly white state, and our young people deserve to see the full spectrum of what is possible for their future.

Historically Black Colleges and Universities provide more than an education. They offer community, cultural pride, belonging, and inspiration. When our students see professors, doctors, engineers, entrepreneurs, scholars, and leaders who look like them, something powerful happens.

They begin to believe that they belong there too.

The impact of this tour speaks for itself.

Several students who participated in our previous HBCU tours are now attending the very universities they once visited as middle and high school students. What started as a college visit became a dream. That dream became a goal. That goal became reality.

That is the power of exposure.

At Pathways, we often say:

"If you want to shift an outcome, sometimes you must change the environment."

This tour is about changing environments, expanding perspectives, and helping young people see a future that is bigger than their current circumstances.
