The Dimock Center's 34th annual Steppin’ Out will take place via livestream on Saturday, October 30, 2021 at 7:00pm. Join together with friends to enjoy a fabulous evening filled with incredible musical talent, and so much more! The event is free, no ticket or registration is required!
The evening will include recognition of honorees, stories from Dimock patients and supporters, and as always, top-notch musical entertainment, including headliner Black Violin! Thanks to Entertainment Sponsor Liberty Mutual, we have an incredible lineup of local musicians who have been impacted by the pandemic as another way to support our community.
Grab your dancing shoes (or your slippers... we won't tell)! At the end of the night, you're invited to get up and join us in a dance party with live DJs!
This uplifting evening celebrating the entire Dimock community is one you won't want to miss!
For 33 years, Steppin’ Out has been Boston’s largest multi-cultural gala and is the largest source of unrestricted, flexible funds raised for Dimock vital programs and services. Funds are used to support the mission of The Dimock Center to heal and uplift patients and families in Roxbury, and surrounding communities.
Thanks to supporters like you, we are able to provide comprehensive, high-quality health care, mental health support, and education to all members of the community, right where they live.
Your gift during the event will ensure the continued vital care of Dimock patients and families, whose needs are growing as we continue to battle the ongoing pandemic. Your support will provide patients with access to COVID-19 testing, food assistance, increased mental health support, and our life-saving vaccine program. You will be helping to break down barriers to care and correcting historic racial inequities in our health care system, every day.
Please consider making a gift, of any size, today by clicking on the gold Support Dimock button at the top of the page. Thanks to the creation of a generous matching fund by the Dimock Boards and Gala Committee, your gift will be doubled!

Black Violin is the Grammy®-nominated band led by classically trained string players Wil B. (viola) and Kev Marcus (violin). Joining them onstage are DJ SPS and drummer Nat Stokes. The band uses their unique blend of classical and hip-hop music to overcome stereotypes while encouraging people of all ages, races, and economic backgrounds to join together to break down cultural barriers. In the past year alone, the band has performed for over 100,000 students in the US and Europe, and has partnered with Yamaha and NAMM (National Association of Music Manufactures) to continue supporting music education.
