Playgrounds play an essential role for children to foster play and collaborate. In schools, children need to cooperate in certain ways to promote a healthy learning environment. Research supports that recess and play are essential factors in helping children build cognitive and social skills. School playgrounds are also important for community building – promoting safe and active play for the entire neighborhood!

Until now, St. Ethelreda has not been able to provide a fun, engaging, and safe space for their students to play during recess. Yet it has been a dream of the school for many years.

St. Ethelreda is excited that their longstanding Big Shoulders Fund Patron and partner, KPMG, is stepping up to help! KPMG is generously providing a $60,000 challenge grant, where donations for the playground will be matched $1 for $1.
