Stevie and Faith Vargas have spent their lives showing up for others.

High school sweethearts from West Texas, they built a beautiful life together centered around faith, family, and serving their community. Stevie is a Marine Corps veteran who later served as a Texas State Trooper and now as a police officer, dedicating his life to protecting others. During his time deployed with the Marines, Stevie had to watch the birth of one of his children through a screen while serving overseas, and for another he could only listen to his baby’s first cries through a voice recording.

Faith is a devoted mom of four, a beloved softball coach, and an incredible special education teacher who pours her heart into the kids and families around her. Their family’s story is one filled with compassion and generosity. Faith has even blessed another family by serving as a surrogate and helping bring two children into the world.

Simply put, Stevie and Faith are the kind of people who always step in when someone else needs help.

Recently, Stevie was diagnosed with a brain tumor and is currently receiving care at MD Anderson Cancer Center. As they begin navigating treatment, recovering from surgery, and the uncertainty ahead, their focus right now is on Stevie’s health and their family.

With four children at home, including two with special needs, this season brings emotional, physical, and financial challenges that no family should have to face alone.

For years, Stevie and Faith have been the ones lifting others up. Now it’s our turn to surround them with love, support, and strength.

This benefit has been created to help ease the burden of medical expenses, travel for treatment, and the many unexpected costs that come with a diagnosis like this.
