Honoring a friend lost far too soon to breast cancer that has become an annual tradition… Anna Lea Johnson was a beloved friend of our Founder Martha Kaley and a favorite teacher of her son, Mark. After Anna Lea lost her battle with breast cancer, her daughter Julie was looking for a way to honor her mother and turned to Martha and earlier.org.

Seventeen years ago, Julie, her husband, Andy, and their daughter Liv hosted the very first “Stew for Boobs” gathering at their home. It was just some friends, some beverages, and some stew. Now, all these years later, this annual tradition has Andy starting preparations on Friday of “Stew weekend” with friends and family each taking a shift to stir the gigantic pot of stew 24 hours ahead of the event which sees over 150 friends and family come through the Newcomb household and generates SEVERAL thousands of dollars in a single EVENING.
