Our Approach to Loving Bereaved Moms

One of our core values as an organization is "Remembrance." We recognize the life that was here and the value your child had in this world. We recognize and remember your motherhood no matter how long you had the joy of having them earth side. We honor and remember them because God does too.

“For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well.”

Out of the Ashes' mission is to equip the community around bereaved families to come alongside them and be part of their community of healing, pointing them to Christ, the author of all healing.

Although her baby is no longer in her arms... she's still their mom.

Here are the ways friends and family support our mission:

Send a care pack to a newly bereaved family containing comfort items and a devotional for each mom, dad and sibling to wrestle with difficult questions.
Recommend a bereaved family for a Medical Bill Relief Grant to cover their medical bills associated with loss.
Attend our connection events for these bereaved families, showing them they are not alone.
Help remember their children they have lost, "Making their babies' little lives matter in big and lasting ways."

Give $50 in honor of a bereaved mom in your circle.
Give $350 to help send 1 mom through our year-long Mentorship Program.

Real life ways we support loss moms as an organization:

We co-host 100 moms at a Bereaved Mother's Day Tea each year. (Cost: $50 to send 1 mom)
Friends and family members sent over 100 gifts and 100 cards to a mom they know for Bereaved Mother's Day in 2024. (Cost: ~$2,000/yr)
Friends and family members sent over 150 free Care Packs to new loss moms in the last year. (Cost: $25 per care pack)
We have covered loss-associated medical bills for 35 moms and their families since fall 2023 ($75,000 so far with a plan to give $60,000 more this year).
We provide ongoing spaces and connection events – big and small – for moms to share their stories and meet other moms who want to be part of their healing. (Cost: ~$50,000/year)

The Impact

$50 – 1 mom attends the Bereaved Mother's Day event and allows you to show honor by sending a card sharing that a donation was made in their honor.

$350 – Send 1 bereaved mom through our year long mentorship program.

$600 (or $50/mo) – A baby's name is added to our Wall of Remembrance on our website and Instagram.

$2,500 (or $200/mo) – Name one of our Medical Bill Relief grants in memory of a child. We will share this child or family's story with a future grant recipient.
