Story

Andrew Salazar Memorial Golf Tournament

July 16, 2021 | 10am-2pm

Lomas Santa Fe Executive Golf Course

1580 Sun Valley Rd, Solana Beach, CA 92075

Andrew Salazar was my son. He was a very talented musician who suffered from addiction and a diagnosis of mental illness, which led him to being homeless. He took his life at the age of 29. Had the option of recuperating in Interfaith’s Campus for Healing and Transformation been known and made available then, Drew would most likely be alive today.

Become part of the solution to beat homelessness and help the mentally ill find hope and purpose in our communities.  The Andrew Salazar Memorial Golf Tournament will raise funds to help two outstanding organizations on the front-line providing support to those experiencing homelessness.

  • Friends of La Posada an all-volunteer group, was started over 30 years ago by Kathleen Dunn Wellman, to provide housing for agricultural workers in Carlsbad and now supports those experiencing homelessness in North County San Diego. www.friendsoflaposada.org.

  • Interfaith Community Services has operated for over 40 years in San Diego County.  With a $6-million capital grant from the San Diego County Board of Supervisors, they are currently in the process of renovating a 54-room hotel in Escondido. The Campus for Healing and Transformation will focus on recuperative care for veterans and civilians discharged from local hospitals. www.interfaithservices.org

You don't have to play golf to donate! 😊
