Anonymous As a classically trained player who even as an adult, cannot reach a 10th and often struggles with an octave, it occurred to me it was a shame pianos didn't come in sizes like violins, or short scale guitars. Obviously there's a level of complexity in a piano absent in these other instruments. Glad to have found out (via an NPR piece) that stretto is a "thing." However, there's still a HUGE missed opportunity in my opinion: MIDI keyboard controllers. I would imagine the retail cost of an88-key wooden weighted hammer-action MIDI stretto controller would probably cost less than a slide-in adapter key bed, and is much more accessible to "the masses."
