When a kid steps onto a baseball field, something changes.

They’re not just learning how to swing a bat or catch a ball. They’re learning how to be part of a team. How to keep going after they strike out. How to listen, lead, work hard, and believe in themselves. They’re finding confidence and connection. Sometimes, they’re finding the safe place they didn’t know they needed.

That’s what baseball was for Strikeout Baseball founder Jeff Lazaros. Growing up in Detroit, baseball became more than a game for Jeff. It gave him direction, discipline, and a place to belong. And even after his own playing days came to an end, he never stopped thinking about what the game could do for kids who just needed a chance.

That vision became Strikeout Baseball.

Right here in Lansing, Strikeout Baseball is working to make sure more kids and families can experience the game, without cost or access standing in the way. Through free youth clinics, ongoing community outreach, and endless opportunities to learn and play, we’re helping more kids discover the love of baseball and everything that comes with it.

Because this is about so much more than a field.
