Whether it’s a burst pipe or a rupture in relationship, building strong movements demands repair, love, and resilience.

For over 30 years, Su Casa has been a haven for healing and liberation for people working towards a world beyond state violence. We've been working hard to expand our capacity for liberatory labor, make space for healing, and establish revolutionary infrastructure on our campus. For all of us engaged in movement, we know that this work is both practical and material, and deeply spiritual. We’re entering this new year with renewed energy and intention to rise to meet the challenging road ahead– and we can’t do it without you!

Announcing the 100 Days of Hospitality campaign! While the state violence that Su Casa / Liberation Landing was founded to resist exists beyond the bounds of political party or national border, we also see every indication from the incoming administration that our communities will face unprecedented assaults on their basic human rights. Our community is expansive and varied, including torture survivors, families surviving displacement, people at risk of deportation and immigrant detention, agricultural workers, abolitionists, and people working in spiritual politics. In order to meet the needs of our neighbors and broader network, we deeply need your support to attend to campus repairs and maintenance, as well as running our mutual aid and healing programs.

What does my donation support?

To give you an idea of how your generosity supports hospitality to our community, here are some specific things you can sponsor:

Free - Spread the word, and share your resources! We would love your help reaching folks who can help us make our goal. Are you connected to (or do you know of) any funders or foundations that might support our work? Does your company have a giving campaign? Please help us connect with support.

$15 - Neighbor care packs - sponsor a care package of clean socks, toiletries, and sanitary supplies for our neighbors in need.

$20 - Sponsor a mutual aid meal - our community chefs have served thousands of people using our campus kitchen. Help us support the mutual aid meals by keeping our kitchen stocked!

$25 - Creature comforts - help us keep Su Casa clean and tidy by sponsoring some cleaning supplies and cat food for our community kitties.

$30 - Household necessities - the only certain things in life are death, taxes… and the need for toilet paper. Buy us a case and help grow our ability to host more people!

$50 - Keep us connected! Internet and phone service at Su Casa keep us connected to our communities (including you!) and help us get the word out to our neighbors about what services we can provide on campus. Internet alone costs us around $150 a month, so if even a few people chip in at this level, you’ve got us covered.

$80 - Buy a tank of gas to keep the Liberation Landing van rolling! Our van is essential for keeping our mutual aid program growing, rescuing food that would otherwise go to waste! Food runs stock our Love Fridge with free groceries for the neighborhood, and help supply ingredients for our mutual aid meals and Frieda’s soup kitchen.

$100 - Utilities - Supplying Su Casa’s big beautiful building with power, gas, water, and heat is a BIG lift. We are undergoing repairs to better meet our community’s needs, and the heating bill in winter is $3000… a month. As part of our 100 Days of Hospitality, we want to provide a warm space to host. Help us keep the lights and heat on so we can focus on building community!

$250 - Sponsor a community wash day - Many of our neighbors struggle to afford to do their laundry, and/or need space where they can do their wash and also stay warm and safe. Help us open our doors for community wash days, supplies snacks and childcare in the lovely Su Casa dining hall.

$400 - Sponsor a Dorothy Day salon gathering - In the spirit of the founder of the Catholic Worker movement, Dorothy Day, we will be offering political education salons in the beautiful Su Casa library. These programs encourage people to interact with our library collections, enter into community conversations with one another, and promote literacy in a space for brave ideas.

$500 - Sponsor a community dinner - We believe that nothing joins people together like a shared meal. During the growing season, our farm and gardens help supply produce for the Su Casa table, but cooking up a hot meal while the land rests requires groceries. Help us join people together over some good eats!

$1000 - Sponsor a garden bed - The Su Casa / #BreathingRoom Gardens and Farm has been beautifying and supplying fresh produce to the neighborhood for years. This past year, we let the land rest to help ameliorate the soil, but come spring we’ll be back in action! Sponsor a bed, and we’ll post a sign with your name on it for the veggies to grow with.

$500 and up - Chip in on the Big Ticket Items - If the Su Casa boiler was a person, it would be old enough to legally drink in a bar (at least!). After many years of service, it suffered a catastrophic failure back in February of 2024. With the help of some very dedicated boiler techs, we’ve recently been working to rebuild the boiler and replace the many decrepit pipes that serve it. The rebuild is estimated to cost around $50k, and we could really use your help.
