Public Works Art Center is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit community art center in the heart of Downtown Summerville. It is a hub of creativity, connection, joy, discovery, and belonging. We have artist studio spaces, classes for all ages, exhibitions that change every eight weeks, nonprofit partnerships galore, and we are working to create a more vibrant Summerville in more ways than we can count.

We believe that there should be no barriers to creating and experiencing art. From the first days we dreamed of Public Works Art Center, we have been committed to offering free admission for all. So far, we've welcomed over 100,000 visitors totally free of charge. But to continue this commitment, we need your help.

In 2025, we expect to offer free admission to well over 30,000 people, ensuring that everyone in Summerville has access to free, high-quality art exhibitions and education. And those 30,000 people, like the 100,000+ we’ve welcomed so far, will shop, drink, and dine all around us, having a significant economic impact on the town of Summerville.
