CONFERENCE PURPOSE AND OUTCOMES:

Things move fast in a time when ever-expanding streaming services and social media influencers relentlessly compete for our attention. The result: information overload and a disturbingly noisy social world.

As change speeds up, it affects our internal space, where hyper-aroused emotions, thoughts, and urges elevate stress levels. And, especially since the pandemic, we have seen increased incidences of mental health disorders, harmful choices to isolate, and intense challenges to our relationships.

No group has experienced this more than the LGBTQIA+ community. On top of that, the most vulnerable within that community feel its effect the most.

This conference will first focus on understanding what is happening in the external and internal environments 1where we live, with a focus on those most at risk. But we will not stop there. We will explore interventions that can lead to resilience under stress, meaningful connection, and empowering psychological flexibility.
