The Spalding Memorial Library and Tioga Point Museum invite you once again to our premier summer community gathering. Happening on our gorgeous grounds on the banks of the Chemung River, this fundraising event is anticipated year after year. The festivities begin at 5:00 PM and will include music, auction and raffle items, food tasting delights from our local eateries, and of course, wine and beer samples from some of our local breweries, distributors, and wineries.

You'll get a chance to raise your glass in toast of the Spalding Memorial Building, an edifice that has been witness to history since its opening in 1898. Its story is intricately connected to that of our nation's founding. Celebrate the many layers of our past with us as we welcome special guest "Ulysses S. Grant," who was a close friend of our building's benefactor, Jesse Spalding. Photos with our guest will be available throughout the evening.

Our garden party happens rain or shine on the second Wednesday evening in August, providing an opportunity to visit with neighbors and friends before the last days of summer are upon us. Come out to support two of Athens' cornerstone institutions, both housed in a landmark dedicated in the name of preserving our local heritage.
