Help Us Change Lives Through Basketball

The Bellingham Sonics is a now a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization! We are committed to providing athletes throughout Whatcom and Skagit Counties the opportunity to compete, grow, and reach their full potential through the game of basketball.

Our program has changed lives by providing a positive, competitive environment where young athletes develop confidence, discipline, leadership, and lifelong friendships.

Many AAU basketball programs cost families $1,400 to $2,800 per season, before travel expenses. At the Bellingham Sonics, every athlete plays for free. We believe every young person who wants to play basketball deserves that opportunity, regardless of their family’s financial situation.

This summer, we’ve been proud to offer FREE community open gyms to get kids out of the house, into the gym, and playing basketball in a safe and positive environment.

As we prepare for our upcoming fall season, our goal is to field as many teams as possible, giving every athlete who wants to play the opportunity to compete, grow, and be part of something bigger than themselves.

We are asking local businesses and community members to partner with us by making a tax deductible donation.
