It started with a phone call in September 1983. Gene Roddenberry — the creator of Star Trek — helped design an organization that would make the ideals of the show real: a world free of hunger, hatred, and suffering. On June 1, 1984, opening night of Star Trek III: The Search for Spock, The International Federation of Trekkers was born.

Since then, our volunteer chapters have shown up for people in crisis — hurricanes, floods, community emergencies — because Star Trek fans believe the future is something you build, not something you wait for.

Every mission we've run has been powered by volunteers and one-time gifts. Today, we're asking our most committed supporters to take one more step.
