"Giving Tuesday was created in 2012 as a joint project between the United Nations Foundation and New York City's 92nd Street Y." Since then, Giving Tuesday has grown into a global movement that values togetherness and kindness through giving back to the organizations that support and inspire us. This Giving Tuesday, we hope you will consider showing your support for the Oceanarium and Education Center. As a 501c3 nonprofit, we depend on the support and encouragement of our visitors, donors, and community to further our mission to open avenues for exploration of local ecosystems here on Mount Desert Island in Maine.
