Thursday - 1/16/2026 - Roxanna and Sienna were shot and killed by their husband/father who then committed suicide. Maya, aged 19, was shot at numerous times but was somehow able to escape unharmed. Roxanna's brother and the Tio to both Sienna and Maya is my partner in our forensic/medical clinic, Dr. Jorge Fuentes. I grieve with he and Maya.

It is hard to find the words of comfort or support at a time like this. I cannot imagine being 19 and trying to flee a house where murder and suicide have brought more than tragedy to the door. VIP has set up this fund to support the family at this time and hopefully to find a way to support Maya in her quest to find a job in the music industry. Her mother was her biggest supporter and now we are challenged with finding a way to become the foundation for her success. I am hoping to set up a scholarship fund for her as well.

Loss of this kind feels final; that there is no way to limit the grief and the void in our hearts that follows. Perhaps the only path that we can follow is one of weaving the memories and their love for us into the fabric of our being in such a way that they survive within us. We live a life worthy of this memory. My love and heart goes out to Maya, to Jorg, and to Desere, Maya’s oldest sister.

I am hoping that all of us can gather around in support of this family, particularly as they grieve while planning funerals.
