War Survivors Institute is an international, U.S.-based organization working from a whole-health, trauma-informed approach. We serve ALL war survivors: military veterans, civilians, refugees, and displaced persons - because we believe lasting peace begins with healing people.

Since the full-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine in 2022, we traveled to Ukraine and Poland, worked with displaced Ukrainians, trained 44 professionals, and established lasting partnerships in Ukraine to continue this critical work.

A central part of that work has been reaching children. We screened over 250 children who lost at least one parent to war, identifying anxiety, depression, and PTSD using the evidence-based RHS-15 tool, and supporting their path toward healing.

Our work has two core pillars: Healing Hearts - restoring physical, emotional, and social well-being through evidence-based healing programs and Growing Peace - research, education, and community projects that reduce the root causes of violent conflict.
