Southwind Field's is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization providing supportive independence for adults with learning differences. Helping the find authentic community, authentic meaningful work, and a safe place to call their own.

Many people may not realize that adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities, specifically those with “higher-functioning” disabilities, fall into an in-between category of the IDD population, that place them at extreme risk of homelessness, isolation, addiction, and exploitation. Many don’t qualify for state support, leaving families asking the anxiety provoking question: “What will happen to my child when I’m gone?” Southwind Fields was created as a response of faith—and believe it doesn’t have to be this way. We come alongside these adults and their families to offer what everyone deserves: a safe place to call their own, meaningful work, and a loving, Christ-centered community where they are known, valued, and able to thrive. Since 2017, we’ve helped dozens leave homelessness and more than 130 individuals find belonging, purpose, and greater independence.
