MAJ Michael J. Donahue was a member of the WHRHS class of 1990 and was killed in action in Kabul, Afghanistan on September 16th, 2014. Major Donahue was on his third and final tour of duty and was just weeks away from returning home to his wife and three children when he was struck down by an enemy attack.

This scholarship fund was created to honor his sacrifice and his life as a soldier, father, brother, son, and friend. The fund awards scholarships annually to students from WHRHS that are either enrolling in ROTC themselves or students whose parents are affiliated with military service.
