Erika Sidney's Story As many of you know, I am a pediatric emergency medicine physician. One of the hardest parts of this job is diagnosing and treating abuse in children. I have joined the board of the Denver Child Advocacy Center to be part of the process of healing and prevention. DCAC coordinates a multidisciplinary team of first responders called when abuse is discovered. They also provide comprehensive counseling services to child victims and their non-offending family members. Closest to my passion is their belief in prevention empowering our community to keep children safe through outreach efforts, training, and educational programing for children.
