The global sync licensing market is a multibillion-dollar industry, yet many independent music creators — especially those from underserved communities — remain on the outside looking in. Without access to real-world education and industry connections, talented artists often miss the opportunities that could sustain their careers. Sync or Swim Empowerment Foundation, Inc. was established to close that gap, ensuring creators from all backgrounds have a seat at the table.

The Need for Career Empowerment

Independent artists are often never taught how the business side of music actually works — how sync licensing functions, what it takes to build a career from it, or how to see themselves as entrepreneurs in the space. Sync or Swim Empowerment Foundation was built to fill that gap through storytelling, direct access to industry professionals, and hands-on learning.

The Sync or Swim Experience (SOSX)

Our flagship program blends film, music, and interactive education to bring this world to life for students and creators. SOSX includes:

A screening of our documentary, Sync or Swim: Diving Deeper
A keynote and live Q&A with working industry professionals
Interactive workshops and music career training
Optional guest panels, giveaways, and community performances

We've already reached over 300 students at schools and institutions including Spelman College, Morehouse, Georgia State University, and Maynard Jackson High School — and we're ready to scale.
