"When I was 14 and leaving school, this random guy Danny gave me a flyer for “the Mayor’s Youth Council”, it was my first job. When I was 22, he was now the Director of the local youth program and hired me to be a Coordinator. When I had an idea for a new youth program, he said ‘lets make it happen’, and helped spark my passion for creating.

He’s been there when my dad passed and when I dropped out of college. Later, when I needed encouragement to take a risk, apply to be a Learning and Development Manager, move into a camper van, and travel to the US, he was there in my corner. Now, we still catch up over good food, talk about life, and I know if I ever need anything, he’s there."

Turning 18 can feel like the end of your time in the community for many. Youth programs end, the sense of belonging and support often disappears, opportunities for mentorship, job training, connection, and professional growth are limited.
