Get their six

In the TACP community, "I've got your six" means one thing: I've got your back. Now it's our turn to get theirs.

Who they are

Tactical Air Control Party (TACP) Airmen are the Air Force's warriors on the ground. They live and fight alongside Army and special operations units and call in air power when lives are on the line. It's one of the most demanding career fields in the military. The training is brutal, the deployments don't stop, and the people around them depend on them to get it right.

What most people never see is what it costs. The stress doesn't stay downrange. It comes home to the kitchen table, to a marriage, and to a child who has spent more birthdays without a parent than with one. TACPs and their families are sacrificing more than most of us will ever know.

The fight after the fight

For many, the battle doesn't end when the uniform comes off. Veterans face far higher rates of PTSD, suicide, homelessness and underemployment than the people they served to protect. Marriages break under the weight. In Gold Star families, one parent is left to carry everything alone.

No TACP should face that by themselves, and they never fought alone.
