Project Creator Steven Kabuye Attacked in Attempted Murder

Last night we received the news that Steven Kabuye, the creator of the "Tailoring Our Way to Freedom" project, was attacked and and the police have determined it an attempted murder.

He has undergone emergency surgery and is improving.  Thankfully Steven has survived this second brutal attack as he has continued to be a vocal and visible activist standing up to the rising homophobia and the Anti Homosexuality Act of 2023

Please keep Steven and all of the team in Uganda in your prayers.

Thank you! From Steven Kabuye, Co-Exec Director, Coloured Voices

We are thrilled to inform you that, thanks to your generosity, we have been able to purchase three big electric industrial sewing machines and have rented a space which will serve as a workshop and showroom for our Tailoring Our Way To Freedom Project.

Additionally, we have successfully registered over 20 individuals who are eager to learn the skills of tailoring. These individuals have all been marginalized and chased away from their homes due to the Anti-Homosexuality Act 2023 and we are committed to providing them not only with valuable skills, but also with a sense of belonging and empowerment.

We are also in the process of creating liberation designs, some of which belong to our dearlate friend and fashion designer and activist, Edwin Chiloba (RIP). We believe that this project will not only teach valuable skills, but also provide a source of hope and empowerment for those who have been marginalized.

Thank you once again for your generous support. With your continued encouragement and funding, we are confident that we can make this project a beacon of hope for all those who are in need. Your contributions will make a lasting impact in the lives of many and we are deeply grateful for your support.
