Where Second Chances Take Flight

YOUR GIFT TURNS RECOVERY INTO FLIGHT!

After rehabilitation, birds in recovery must prove they can soar, maneuver, and land safely before returning to the wild. Without adequate space to rebuild strength and evaluate flight, that second chance is lost.

For more than 30 years, Bird TLC relied on a flight pen located at Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson in Anchorage. Decades of harsh Alaska weather have rendered that structure unsafe for the birds we protect and the staff and volunteers caring for them. As a result, our ability to prepare raptors for release is at risk.

Our answer is a new, onsite, purpose-built flight pen: 50 feet of safe, open space where healing turns into flight. Built to meet the highest national rehabilitation standards, this facility will allow Bird TLC to prepare raptors such as owls, hawks, falcons, and harriers for successful release back into Alaska’s wild landscapes.

EVERY GIFT PLAYS A ROLE IN GIVING

RAPTORS A SECOND CHANCE TO FLY FREE.

Our goal is to secure $60,000 by the end of the year towards pre-construction costs so we can have shovel-ready documentation in 2027!

Your gift will move us closer to the goal and help close the gap between recovery and freedom for Alaska’s raptors. It ensures they will have space to regain strength, prove their readiness, and return to the skies where they belong.
