Theatre Advocacy Project [TAP] is a service organization founded in 2021 with the mission of creating safe and equitable working conditions for all theatre professionals. We envision a future free from discrimination, harassment, and abuse, allowing for the advancement of braver, more collaborative, and exploratory art-making.

TAP supports the creation of safe and equitable workplace culture by providing educational resources, safety and reporting tools, and community programming. In 2023, TAP expanded its offerings with an online membership platform that provides access to interactive learning modules. Our existing e-learning covers vital topics such as sexual harassment, bullying and discrimination, bystander intervention, anti-oppressive workplace practices, and conflict resolution techniques.

TAP recognizes that access needs vary, and as such, offers several membership packages to ensure affordability for all. This approach allows theatre professionals and organizations to select membership options that align with their financial circumstances, while still gaining access to the tools and knowledge they need to foster safe and inclusive workplaces. TAP’s evolving programs aim to empower theatre professionals with the resources necessary to create systemic change within the industry.
