Supporting Healthy Sexuality: A Webinar for Parents and Caregivers of People with Intellectual Disabilities

Talking about sex, puberty, relationships, boundaries, consent, and safety can be difficult for any parent or caregiver. When you are supporting a loved one with an intellectual or developmental disability, those conversations can feel even more complicated. Access to accurate, accessible sexuality education is a human right. Individuals with intellectual disability deserve accessible information about their bodies, boundaries, relationships, and safety.

This webinar is designed specifically for parents and caregivers who want to feel more confident talking with their diagnosed loved ones about sex and sexuality in a clear, respectful, and developmentally appropriate way.

This webinar will be led by a special education teacher and trained sexuality educator for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

Our presenter will walk through practical information and strategies to help families approach these conversations directly, answer questions, teach important concepts, and support their loved ones as they grow.

Topics will include areas such as puberty, bodies, boundaries, consent, relationships, sexual health, safety, and other important parts of sex education.

There will also be time for Q&A at the end of the webinar, and we encourage you to submit your questions in advance via this JotForm.

This webinar is intended for parents and caregivers. We will be discussing sexuality and sexual health openly and using clear, accurate sexual terminology.
