Team Rebuild Takes on Tokyo 2027

Rebuilding Together Metro Chicago is an official international charity of Tokyo Marathon 2027 and on March 7, 2027, three dedicated runners will represent Team Rebuild in one of the world’s most prestigious races. As they take on 26.2 miles through the heart of Japan’s capital, they are also running for something even greater: safe and healthy homes for our neighbors in need right here in Chicago and Cook County.

Rebuilding Together Metro Chicago believes everyone deserves to live in a safe, healthy, and affordable home. Since 1991, we have repaired over 2,000 homes and nearly 300 community facilities, serving low-income families, older adults, people with disabilities, and veterans. Through volunteer power and community partnership, every $1 donated becomes $3.25 in services that repair homes, revitalize communities, and rebuild lives.

In 2025 alone, we helped 212 homeowners stay in their homes with dignity and independence. More than half of these households were led by women over 62, a reminder of how critical this work is for aging neighbors who want to remain in the communities they love.
