Hi, we're Edgar and Ulzii.
In 2018, we received one of the greatest gifts we could have ever imagined — our son, Daniel.
At the time, we were confused and full of questions. Being from Mexico, resources about Cornelia de Lange Syndrome were incredibly scarce. But we found the CdLS Foundation in the U.S., which gave us access to studies and information we couldn't find anywhere else. We shared that knowledge with our doctors, and thanks to that, we could provide Daniel with the care he needed. We will always be grateful for that.
The Foundation didn't just help us understand Daniel's diagnosis. It became part of our story. Edgar ran the Chicago Marathon with the Foundation in 2022, and Ulzii ran in 2023. Both were among the most fulfilling experiences of our lives.
This year, we're both running Chicago, and we couldn't be more excited to do it together.
Anyone who has spent time around someone with CdLS knows that joy and resilience aren't just qualities they have. It's their way of life. It's who they are. We run because of them. We run for Daniel. And we'd be honored to have your support.
