Something big is taking shape at Teatown.

Visitors can already see construction underway on our campus, including the renovation of the Nature Center and the groundbreaking of a new Education Center. This once-in-a-generation project will make Teatown more accessible, sustainable, welcoming, and better equipped to serve the students, families, campers, teachers, hikers, and community members who come here to learn from and connect with nature.

However, while the buildings are taking shape, our work is not finished.

We are now in the final, community-powered phase of Teatown’s capital campaign. The remaining funds will help complete the exhibits, nature playscape, animal ambassador enclosures, hands-on learning spaces, and other essential parts of the project that will bring the new campus to life.

These are essential parts of the project where exploration, discovery, and ecological literacy happens.

They are where a child meets an Animal Ambassador up close, a family pauses to explore nature together, and future environmental stewards begin building a lifelong connection to the natural world.

The completed campus will include a renovated Nature Center with improved visitor flow, more sustainable building systems, and enhanced spaces for environmental education. A new Education Center will create dedicated indoor and outdoor learning spaces for school groups, summer campers, public programs, and deeper science learning. Across the campus, new ADA accessible routes, green infrastructure, rain gardens, native plantings, and nature playscapes will create a more inclusive, pedestrian-friendly, and ecologically vibrant place to learn and explore.

Teatown has served this community for more than sixty years. Every day, we see how meaningful time in nature can spark curiosity, build confidence, and inspire people to care for the world around them. This project is an investment in ensuring that Teatown can continue to offer those experiences for decades to come.
