A message from Chris Lynch:

No Rain, No Flowers

Andrew left us too soon, our loss, God’s gain. A dedicated husband, father of seven, and friend to many. Andrew always had a smile on his face, took the blows life gave, said ”f*#ks sake” dusted himself off and hit life back harder. I only knew him from our brief interactions at #DataRobot, where he was the CISO, and only post DataRobot did we strike up a personal relationship, that for me, felt like a childhood friend. When I lost my sense of humor, he wouldn’t accept it, when I didn’t feel like a few pints or a concert, he ignored me and we went anyway, leaving my worries lost in laughter. Andrew made sure “You Never Walked Alone”, befitting as it’s the anthem of his lifelong club and one of his passions, Liverpool Football Club.

More profoundly, through example, Andrew has made many of us better husbands, fathers, colleagues and friends. When a colleagues son unexpectedly passed, Andrew stepped in to make sure lifelong memories weren’t lost, there are countless examples, but I’m sure you get the point.

It’s our responsibility to carry on Andrew’s legacy and ensure those close to him “Never Walk Alone” and on Thursday, June 4th, that’s exactly what we are going to do. A celebration of Andrew’s life and raise money to support his rock, Jackie and his seven children will be held at Capo (who have generously donated their space) in South Boston. The “Tech Tackles” band will be performing Andrew’s favorite songs throughout the evening.

My ask of you - be present - just like Andrew was every day of his life. And while you’re present - sing, dance, enjoy the evening and each other. I will be reaching out to the cyber community in Boston and beyond to help sponsor this celebration in appreciation of a true gentleman, incredible leader, exceptional father and all around great guy.

We were all blessed with Andrew’s presence in our lives, albeit too short, let’s be present for him and his family in their time of need as he was in ours. Please help us support the Smeaton Family during this difficult time.
