Harlem is calling the Dandy home — this Juneteenth, in our Renaissance Stroll through Sugar Hill.

On Saturday, June 20th, 2026, Sister’s Uptown Bookstore and Community Center, Patrick’s On The Hill, and Jon’s Dojo at The Tully Home are coming together to commemorate the 161st Juneteenth Celebration with a full day of bold and brilliant events — culminating with us dressed in our Dandy best, reclaiming and honoring our iconic look and the artistic, literary, activist she-roe and hero ancestors.

The traditional Harlem Stroll along 7th Avenue was our declaration of autonomy and power — to let the world know we are here, and more importantly, to let each other know we are here and worthy of all that this land we have built has to offer.

It was special to see our tradition and contribution to the world of fashion and its iconography finally recognized on a large institutional stage. And while that event raised well over $31 million — with individual tickets at $75,000 and group tables at $350,000 — the average family’s annual salary didn’t cover the cost of a single ticket. We were once again left as spectators of our own creation.

On Saturday, June 20th, we are doing it differently. We’ve created a price structure that is more than affordable — with free events including a book giveaway at Sister’s Uptown Bookstore, powered by Bronx native and New York Times bestselling author Nana Kwame Adjei-Brenyah of Friday Black — concluding with dinner at Patrick’s On The Hill and a Saturday Nighter Social at Jon’s Dojo at The Tully Home.

Saturday, June 20th, 2026 — The Harlem Renaissance Stroll-In Commemoration of the 161st Juneteenth Celebration

All events from 10:00 AM – 5:00 PM take place at Sister’s Uptown Bookstore and Community Center.

10:00 – 11:00 AM | Martial Arts Class by Metamorphosis Move

Start the day grounded. A morning martial arts class to set the tone.

1:00 – 2:00 PM | Book Giveaway with Nana Kwame Adjei-Brenyah

The Morningside Art Exchange comes into the space for an arts and vendor experience, bringing energy, creativity, and community through the store.

A wonderful social dinner served buffet style with a vegetarian option. Tickets available through GiveButter.

8:30 – 11:30 PM | The Saturday Nighter — Speakeasy & Gala Salon at Jon’s Dojo at The Tully Home
