Help Anthony Carrillo Teach the Language of the Bongó

For nearly five decades, master percussionist Anthony Carrillo has developed his musical language on the bongó through performance, practice, mentorship, and teaching.

Now, he wants to share that knowledge with students everywhere.

The Bongo Language is an educational project that will become an online learning platform, giving students access to Anthony’s instructional video lessons so they can learn, practice, and develop their own voice on the bongó.

The curriculum explores the techniques behind Anthony’s approach—from touch, pressure, articulation, timing, coordination, dynamics, phrasing, rhythm, and improvisation—alongside an accompanying book.

Help Us Build It

Your contribution will help us create the lessons and the platform where students will access them.

Funds will support filming and recording, audio production, video editing, educational materials, book production, and development of the online learning platform.

We’re building more than a collection of videos. We’re creating a place where students can learn directly from Anthony’s experience and develop their own relationship with the bongó.

Once launched, students will be able to purchase access to the platform and learn at their own pace, creating a sustainable way for Anthony’s teachings to reach new generations of musicians.
