Across Greater Charleston, thousands of people want to help. They want to volunteer, give wisely, and make a real difference in the lives of their neighbors. But too often, they do not know where to start, who to trust, or how to connect their passion to actual need. And too many nonprofit leaders are doing extraordinary work without the support, equipping, and connection they need to sustain it.

That is about to change.

Shared City Headquarters—the first space of its kind in our region—is being built to be the answer. A central, welcoming gathering place where helpers can find each other, get equipped, and direct their generosity toward real, measurable outcomes. A place where no one in Greater Charleston should ever have to say, "I want to help, but I don't know how."

This is not just a building. It is the infrastructure our charitable ecosystem has always needed.

What happens inside these walls:

Nonprofit leaders will find workshops, training, one-on-one coaching, and a full equipping pathway—all scholarship funded, pay what you can. Community members, volunteers, donors, and businesses will find effective charity workshops, round table discussions, ways to get connected to hyper-local giving and serving opportunities, and a space to connect with others who care. And every organization featured in our headquarters will have earned the confidence badge—our evidence-based signal that they are operating with the practices and principles that lead to real, lasting change in people's lives.

Our goal is $150,000 by March 31, 2027. Every dollar moves us closer to opening the doors and activating the full potential of our region's charitable ecosystem.

Founding Building Sponsors

We're inviting a limited number of generous partners to join us as Founding Building Sponsors: the people and businesses who believe every act of generosity can create greater impact, and who want to help build a space that equips, connects, and supports those doing good in our city. Founding Building Sponsor commitments range from $1,000 to $25,000 across five levels (Legacy, Cornerstone, Multiplier, Impact, and Community), with limited spots at each level. Sponsors receive lasting recognition as the founding builders of Shared City Headquarters, from permanent placement on our Sponsor Wall to naming rights for key spaces.
