Join The Dandelion Lab, NYC's newest theatre group, in fostering works that are new to the stage, including brand-new scripts, staged podcast musicals, adaptations of films, and other experimental performance projects. The Dandelion Lab is passionate about supporting emerging playwrights, actors, musicians, directors, and designers. Your donation helps us cover rehearsal and performance spaces, production expenses, and artist reimbursements/compensation.

About our inaugural production: Welcome to Mountport is a fully staged version of Dropout's Game Changer episode, "Official Cast Recording." Originally the setting of a fully improvised musical on a game show, the town of Mountport will soon be just a train ride away in NYC. Join Alexa, a baseball-playing girl, as she explores a mountain-seaside town full of music and small-town charm but sadly lacking in tuna fish. Can Alexa prove herself before the maybe-evil Tina and her sidekick, Pinocchio, tear her down?

About our founder: Kat Margaret Phifer is passionate about theatre, creating third spaces, and supporting new voices in the arts. She has experienced the performing arts from many different perspectives, including as a director, stage manager, actor, run crew member, arts administrator (including in HR and finance), house manager, playwright, and more. While attending Bryn Mawr College (class of 2019), Kat ran the Shakespeare Performance Troupe and co-founded Contemporary Original Works (COW) while being involved with multiple performances each semester. In 2022, she moved to NYC to follow her love of directing and is excited to make her NYC directorial debut in August.
