Building a Different Path to Higher Education

Across Upstate South Carolina, employers need skilled workers, while many students are looking for an affordable, practical path to a meaningful career. Mount Valor University is being built to help connect those needs.

About Mount Valor University

Mount Valor is a new Christian university in the Upstate focused on education through the community, not apart from it. We are preparing to welcome our first students next year, beginning with skilled trades programs in:

Automotive Technology
HVAC
Electrical
Roofing

These programs will combine hands-on technical education with Christian formation, professional development, and real-world work experience.

Our goal is not simply to help students earn a credential. We want students to develop the skills, experience, relationships, and character they need to enter the workforce prepared to contribute and grow from day one.

We also want these opportunities to be accessible. We are working to build pathways for first-generation students, underserved students, adult learners, and others who may benefit from a more affordable and direct route from education to meaningful work.

As we close out this year, we're focused on the final steps required to move Mount Valor toward welcoming its first class of students. Founding gifts received now will help us enter the new year ready to take those next steps.

The Founding 100

There is a great deal of work between starting a university and welcoming its first class. The Founding 100 is an invitation for our community to be part of that work.

Our goal is to raise $10,000 from 100 founding supporters. This isn't the full cost of launching a university. It's an opportunity for 100 people to help build its foundation.

Where Founding Dollars Go

Gifts to this campaign will help us take tangible steps toward opening our doors, including:

Curriculum & instructional preparation: Finalizing instructional resources and hands-on training needs for our initial skilled trades programs.
Student recruitment & outreach: Reaching prospective students and families through local outreach and informational sessions.
Operational infrastructure: Establishing essential educational technology, systems, and student support platforms.
Employer partnerships: Building connections for apprenticeships, mentorships, work-based learning, and career opportunities.

Become a Founding Supporter

A gift of any size helps move Mount Valor forward. The Founding 100 is about more than reaching a fundraising goal. It's about building a community of people who believe in creating new pathways for students and strengthening the workforce of our community.

If you believe students deserve more pathways to meaningful work and that education can strengthen both individuals and communities, we invite you to become one of the Founding 100.
