The Reverend Canon John Mulindabigwi and his wife Jolly had a vision in 2006 - to create a school that educates young people to become leaders of character who would bring hope, peace, and transformation to Kamwenge in rural Uganda. The community is made up of subsistence farmers and refugees who fled the cruel Idi Amin regime and returned to Uganda in 2000. Parents there struggle to pay tuition and kids drop out of school early if they go at all.

Friends from First Pres. Church in Glen Ellyn, IL launched a non-profit, Partners in Mission - USA (PIM) to build and support what was to become Kamwenge Secondary and Vocational School in 2007, including Good Shepherd Kindergarten and Primary School (GSK) in 2010.

By 2014, KSVS hoped to begin major construction on a new Kitchen and Dining Hall to accommodate students and staff for meals and create a teaching kitchen for culinary classes. PIM organized a fundraising bike ride. The first ride funded the new Dining Hall and Kitchen, followed by annual rides that built a STEM center, a girls' dormitory, teacher housing, and a new Carpentry & Metalworking Shop in 2024.

Our overall goal this year is to raise $75,000 to pay for vital operational needs such as paying teachers, providing meals, and other important functions such as repairs, electricity, internet, and water. Thank you for your support! www.pim-africa.org.
